This forum invites directors and organizers of both residential and non-residential printmaking programs wishing to engage in collaborative projects for the mutual benefit of printmaking program organizers and artists. Seventeen organisers will gather to hold round-table discussions on how participants may benefit from their respective specialities by means of project-based collaborations and exchanges of artists, technicians and researchers in residence.
We ask directors to present case studies from active workshops in their countries and discuss the possibility of future exchanges. This meeting is intended then not only to generate matchmaking opportunities between individual studios, but also to address how to continue exchanges in the future, for which we may consider forming an organization or alliance.
The meeting is facilitated by Maria Tuerlings, programme director of TransArtists department of DutchCulture, centre for international cooperations. The program will be divided into two sections: the first part being discussion, which will be followed by an introduction to the increasing interest in foreign Artist-in-Residency programs among Japanese artists as well as the government aim to encourage younger generation to study abroad; the second part will be devoted to consolidating ideas, possibilities and methodologies of these exchange programs.
